The widely revered Indian jurist, economist, politician, social reformer, a member of the Constituent Drafting committee, independent India’s first Minister of Law and Justice, and the chief architect of the Constitution of India, who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards India’s untouchables, the Dalits, (Dr.) Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born on this day in 1891, and his sagacious legacy continues to inspire the people of the world to even today.
